PUR Binding
PUR binding, although the same process as perfect binding, uses a different adhesive. Perfect Binding uses EVA adhesive whereas PUR uses polyurethane reactive. PUR offers superior adhesion over EVA, with better ability to lay flat without compromising the binding strength. This also offers better heat and cold resistance.
Numerous considerations, such as paper weight and type, number of pages, spine thickness, text grain direction, and its intended use and longevity of the product, must be discussed before planning and print.
Perfect Binding
Perfect binding although the same process as PUR binding, this method uses EVA adhesives or hot melts. This is a more economical type of binding than PUR binding. It is ideal for short-life books such as annual reports or magazines. It is more suited to lighter stocks and uncoated papers.
